Time for some mash up. STV SLV and ABX make up the HOOD INTERNET which focus mainly on mash up of indie rock and hip hop. Although sometimes I cringe when I hear lil weeezy over a relaxing indie song that I enjoy (check below) the creativity and the skill to put it all together in a format that sounds great deserves respect. I’ve randomly downloaded tracks from these guys for a while now as a banger or just a new spin on an old track that I like. They’ve got … hundreds of mash ups…. and I’m only throwing up a few which doesn’t do them justice so check out their http://www.myspace.com/therealhoodinternet and peep the mixtapes for a broader view.
Feel it on the Southside - Washed Out vs Weezy & Birdman
Two weeks of Hip Hop - Hood Internet (Dead Prez vs Grizzly Bear)
Tamborine Reckoning - Hood Internet (Eve ft Swizz Beats vs Radiohead)
When the last time I left you - Hood Internet (Clipse vs Avalanche)

Young Hov’s 12th album has officially been leaked! The 15 track record has guest spots from Drake, Kid Cudi, Alicia Keys and the regulars; Mr. West, Jeezy, Pharrell and Rihanna. Kanye is all over the CD production-wise, with No I.D. weighing in heavily as well, most notably on D.O.A, and mainstays such as The Neptunes and Timbo make contributions. I haven’t listened to the CD enough to give you a fair review, but I’ll put my 2 cents in once I get there. The only song I have heard alot is the first single, Death of Auto-Tune, and honestly I feel that Jay had the right idea, but faltered to far from his original goal. The record was supposed to be against all the fake shit in hip-hop, and I agree this auto-tune shit has gotten out of hand, but DJ Khalid, Young Jeezy and Funkmaster Flex do not represent anything close to real hip-hopand. Jay-Z seems to disagree with me. We also differ in our stance that the injection of color into fashion is a step in the wrong direction. Since when is self-expression bad? Isn’t that what this whole music thing is about? Hova, you are the first to say that you aren’t a gangster, so stop trying to be G by saying you’re only going to wear black.
Anyways, heres your fix. Enjoy

Generally speaking I am used to hard stomping electro madness brought to you by FAKE BLOOD but, I was quite surprised by the funk/disco vibe on the three song FIX YOUR ACCENT EP. Three songs which seem to be following along the same lines as Duck Sauce laying down disco samples but still reverting back to electro to shake things up. Enjoy.
Fix your acceent - Fake Blood
I think I like it - Fake Blood
The Dozens - Fake Blood

YOOO watup its Harskeet Skeet here, live and direct, bringing you my first ever post! And since it is my first post, I thought I’d stick to what I know best; hip-hop. I’m a relative noob when it comes to the electronic scene, but I’m learning fast. It helps that my best friend and partner is a DJ/producer, and that I like to wile-the-fuck-out in a way that only electro allows, so don’t worry ill pick it up quick. But for now I need to tell you about De La Soul, and their upcoming date in MTL. These certified living legends have been doing their thing for over 22 years, and this is a cant miss opportunities to witness greatness at the Olympia on August 22nd. De La isn’t one of those Hollywood bubblegum rap acts, with 15 fools jumping around onstage, yelling randomly, and Olympia is the perfect venue for them to showcase their creativity. I can guarantee you’ll hear at least one freestyle you won’t soon forget.
Here are some of their classics
De La Soul - Me, Myself and I
De La Soul - Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)
And a remix of their grammy winning colabo with the Gorillaz
Gorillaz feat. De La Soul - Feel Good Inc (Remakerz Remix)

Corey Shapiro, flashy and fun, runs a very exclusive and very well recognized vintage sunglasses business out of LA and MTL… here’s a writeup nightlife mag did about him
” This sassy Hampstead hunk had been running a “collectible sneaker” store on the Main when he one day decided to rifle through his grandfather’s drawers only to discover the lovable ol’ codger had owned “this huge pair of vintage gold Cazals, just like MC Hammer wore when he was popular.” Replacing hisgrandfather’s prescription lenses with some shades, Corey started “wearing them around everywhere, they became my thing, my fashion statement.” So impressed by all the attention his nifty eyewear was garnering, he started travelling the world looking for vintage eyewear inventories from the 1950s-’80s he could pick up for a song and remarket as the coolest, hippest shit any self-respecting fashionista would be happy to pay top dollar to own. “Basically, we bought this dead stock, placed it on my celebrity friends that I knew from my collectible sneaker days, and remarketted it as a hot and precious fashion commodity.” His company, which first opened its doors in 2005, now has offices in Montreal, New York and L.A., with said “dead stock” eyewear selling from between $300 and $25,000 a pair. He drives a 2008 Chevy HHR. “
